About Gisele

Which About Me should I write today? There’s the Young about me, the Mom about me, the Dog Liberator about me, and the New about me!

My Pack!

Everyone who knows me knows that I have a very bad habit. I rescue dogs, and I’ve done a very good job rescuing dogs, but it’s not a very profitable business, especially lately! While I’ll never abandon my calling, rescuing dogs has taught me a lot about myself, my talents, how hard I can really work, and my dedication. Ask anyone, I am a true work-a-holic.

I have so much to share with you on this Blog, but since I can’t write everything all at once, I’ll take one topic at a time.

My goal is to help people who were just like me three years ago. I created The Dog Liberator out of nothing but a dream. What’s different about me is I’m not much of a dreamer, I’m a do-er.

There has never been a better time for hard-working individuals to reinvent themselves. There has never been a better time for people to use their talents, experience, and drive to help others, invent businesses to make this world a better place, and/or create non-profit companies.

What have you been dreaming about lately?

Whatever it is you’re thinking about doing, do us all a favor, ignore your competition, don’t look at what other businesses are doing. Put blinders on, and focus on what YOU want to do, how you want to build it, what you want it to look and feel like…. then just do it!

I had so much fun creating my daughters Blog, The Kids’ Critic, that I want to do it again!  Not only do I want to do it again, I want to set a goal for myself and create a dozen blogs for people before the end of January 2013.

The creating of The Dog Liberator was beyond strange.  I purchased a domain name and started a website for only one reason – to educate the general public about the plight of the American Dog.  A place where I can share euthanasia rates, the difference between shelters, pounds, and rescues.  The website described in detail how to tell the difference between a reputable breeder, a hobby breeder, and a puppy mill.  It helped people understand why it’s so important to adopt and not shop, why spay/neuter is paramount to our success in decreasing homeless dog.

Shy Shannon

Several years later, it happened.  One day, one dog was brought to my door step, and then another, and another, and I began to rescue.

I didn’t take the rescue part very seriously at first.  I thought it was a fluke, a fad, a short-term hobby.  Sometime toward the end of 2009, I took a photograph of a scared little Border Collie under a chair on my back porch.  I knew that would be the photograph that would brand my Rescue.  Branding and consistency was the key to The Dog Liberator’s success.  Even today, Shy Shannon is TDL’s icon.

Saving dogs was my passion.  I created a website to help others save dogs, never thinking that it would be my calling.

So tell me, what’s your passion?
